The President’s Volunteer Service Award was created by President George W. Bush supporting his 2002 State of the Union Address where he called on all Americans to make a difference in their communities through volunteer service. Individuals who have completed a minimum of 100 or more hours of volunteer service can qualify for the award. On July 22, 2008 Sherri Goggin was presented with this prestigious award by President Bush at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA.
Sherri was recognized for her work with the Bundles of Joy for Preemies program which she founded in 2006 to support families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
